Head of Product

As Head of Product your primary focus is on aligning Subly’s product strategy with the overall business strategy.


As Head of Product your primary focus is on aligning Subly’s product strategy with the overall business strategy.  You are passionate about understanding the customer needs and pain points to feed into the go-to-market strategy.  You thrive in breaking down complex ideas into features and user stories, prioritising them and providing a clear point of view and vision for a development team. Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for bringing the product roadmap to life and identifying new opportunities.


Ensure the company's products meet the needs of its customers and identify potential opportunities in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure understanding of the evolving customer needs
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements using a variety sources including customer interviews, internal feedback, sales calls, customer support queries, market research and customer trends
  • Proficient with creating/‘grooming’ product backlogs, writing user stories and developing acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with technology and design to continue to build a culture of innovation, test and learn and prioritising customer problems and the opportunity to create amazing experiences
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement with value delivered
  • Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers
  • Managing internal and external teams
  • Align all the members of your cross-functional team to collaborate on releasing products that massively impact the metrics your team owns
  • Facilitating product requirements and prioritisation workshops
  • Continuously improving the backlog ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated and prioritised
  • Make big and daunting goals possible by breaking them down into smaller and achievable easy to execute milestones
  • Work with Head of Engineering to review tech stack, monitor costs and suggest improvements
  • Work with the Head of Engineering to review infrastructure of all products and ensure optimisation in preparation for fast growth

Key skills and behaviours

  • Experience with Enterprise Data Platforms, technical expertise; knowledge of building or managing software product(s)
  • Experience working alongside B2B sales teams to support go-to-market
  • Experience in fast-paced start-up organisations and how they should adapt as the team grows.  Including optimising team structures, decision rights, communication channels
  • Ability to create metrics and interpret data to make good decisions fast
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lead and inspire
  • Strong vision and strategic abilities 
  • A hands on leader
